Lorgath

Lorgath

Forsaken Space Marine

Played by Garreth

Background - Lorgath finally managed to climb from the rocky crevice from which the explosion had propelled him and the two Marines who he'd been with and he stopped a moment to survey the scene. The mountainous region in which the battle had been fought showed the tell-tale signs of a conflict completed. The enemies had been stripped of anything of worth and as was traditional for the 3rd Company of the Night Reapers Chapter the enemies bodies had all been decapitated. Several of the units Champions were attempting to match the impressive total of their Company Captain but in Lorgath's opinion carrying around a pile of skulls seemed like a waste of effort and he himself usually kept more useful trophies such as the weapons of particularly potent enemies. Judging from the desolation of the scene evidently the rest of his Company had presumed him destroyed in the explosion and hadn't bothered to check to see if he or the two Marines standing next to him might have actually survived.

He could feel his gene modified body attempting to compensate for his injuries but the major problem was the planets corrosive and poisonous atmosphere seeping through the holes in his armour...it's machine spirit was flashing warning icons onto his helmet display and was undoubtedly feeling the dishonour that came from being mostly stripped of it's colours by the blast that had incapacitated him. He'd need it repaired soon if he was to survive long enough to get off this piece of shit rock that he was stranded upon as there was absolutely nothing salvageable on any of the bodies around him. It looked increasingly likely that he'd have to climb back down the cliff face and see if either of his recently deceased brother Marines had any equipment worth salvaging.
Lorgath climbed out of the ravine for the 2nd time with a barely functional set of Power Armour (though many of it's sub-systems were now inoperable), a pair of Chainaxes, a battered but functional Great Chain weapon, a Bolt Pistol and ammunition and a handful of Legion Grenades. Further searching acquired for him a Shotgun and enough ammunition for a battle or two just in case of trouble. Now he just needed to get to the landing site and hope that one of the Thunderhawks or the Storm Bird was still there..

The outcropping exploded into fragments as he punched a chunk of it away in frustration. He briefly considered praying to the Emperor and then laughed to himself at the irony of that...his Chapter hadn't done anything but pay lip service to the Imperial creed for thousands of years...The deployment area was empty, his internal Vox was either malfunctioning or there were simply no Night Reapers vessels in range though the fact that his armours bare and fire blackened ceramite was covered in the greyish black dust that seemed to stain everything left on this rock and some may have got into the grill and damaged it. His situation wasn't hopeful...He was now stranded on a piece of crap planet, with no supplies except weapons, no way of calling for help and little to do other than starve to death over a prolonged period...There was nothing to do but to reduce his Power consumption to the absolute minimum and wait in case a billion to one chance of a rescue would occur...it was going to be a long, long night.....

Garvek

Garvek

Human Psyker

Played by - Louis

Background - As a young boy on Jaggafalls, Garvek, grew up not to far away from the awe inspiring Eye of Terror. For Nights on end he would stare up into the sky at the Eye, knowing that  great warriors that would enter, and amazing beasts would leave. He would wonder what lay beyond.

As Garvek grew older, he become more interested in the Eye, and the things that lay through the portal of mystery. He would go to the Book Temple to try and find books on the Eye, but they were locked  away from the citizens of the Imperium. Garvek’s curiosity got the better of him. So desperate to find out more, he broke into the vault in his teen years, delving into forbidden secrets of the Eye. So fascinated was he that he enrolled as the librarian, Keeper of Secrets for his planet.

Over the years as librarian he would go into the vault and read all the forbidden tomes, learning about mutants, heretics and daemons of the warp. Aswell as the warp creatures he learnt of  the ones who would destroy such fascinating creatures. It annoyed him, knowing that people would try and eradicate such interesting creature.

Wishing to go see, such entities, he began to try and find a way into the warp. Garvek spent many years watching ships, he could easily find one that had the capability to enter the eye.

After entering the warp, lost souls flew around him, his body starting to shiver, the evil of the warp, infesting inside him. His mind pounding, his skin stretching out. His eyes closing. Its hard to breath. The darkness closing in. Trying to stay awake, horrors filling his mind. Laughter..... Darkness....

Hekate The Noble

Hekate The Noble

Space Marine Sorceror

Player - Toby

Background - Hekate the Noble was once a proud Lexicanum of the Iron Snakes Chapter, however this all changed upon the prison world Chryseis.

Then Phratry-Brother Hekate was seconded to the Inquisition to use his psychic abilities to aid Interrogator Lyra Devi in the interrogation and punishment of the foul Heretics within the facility. While plunging deep within the incarcerated Heretics psyches Hekate began to develop a deep sympathy for the prisoners finally realising that the dark thoughts that had plagued him from early childhood were not unique and more depraved thoughts were contained within the Heretics minds. While patrolling the facility the sympathy felt by the Librarian was transformed into outright hatred as he saw the despicable conditions the prisoners were forced to live in, it was from this point that he vowed to release the prisoners to allow them to fulfil their depraved urges and to subject the rest of the Imperium to fates worse than the prisoners suffered at their gaolers hands.

Easily overpowering the guards within the main control building Hekate opened all cell doors and destroyed all psychic wardings within the prison compound allowing the prisoners free reign within the facility; broadcasting the following message across all Vox channels, through the main speaker system and directly into the minds of all souls within the compound:

“Go now my brothers & sisters do as you please, set your gluttonous desires free and do as you please!”

Hearing this outright statement of heresy from the Librarian assembled the remaining guards and made to take back the facility and destroy the rogue psyker. It was in the main dining area where she finally found the Librarian who she immediately engaged in combat. The Interrogator fought bravely, damaging the Heretics psychic hood and taking one of his eyes. The fight was ended when the Librarian grabbed the Interrogator by the throat and threw her down to the baying masses below; “kill that bitch, and make it slow”. It was a full 24 hours later that the Interrogator’s screams finally ceased and she was granted the sweet release of death.

A month passed before retribution came for the psyker, who had come to rule the anarchic prison, his deliverance coming in the form of the Kareretyer, an Iron Snakes Frigate bearing the Notable Squad Damocles. Damocles split into pairs to hunt for the rogue psyker around the compound, this however turned into their undoing as it left Phratry-Brothers Dyognes and Natus alone and vulnerable to the attacks of the Librarian who then slew both brothers before heading to the facilities space port to escape. In the space port the librarian was intercepted by Phratry-Brother Andromak and Apothecary Khiron, Hekate slew Andormak and badly wounded Khiron before boarding the Iron Snakes waiting Thunderhawk and making for the Kareretyer. Commandeering the Kareretyer Hekate made for the system jump point where he was once again attacked, this time by the Interrogator Devi’s vessel that had retreated and been in wait since the beginning of the uprising. The larger, better armed marine vessel powered past the Interrogator’s vessel leaving it stranded, but not before the smaller ship caused grave damage to the Kareretyer’s warp drives.

The damage sustained by the Kareretyer forced it to drop out of the warp at the most inauspicious time, as it appeared around the Shrine-World of Palset at the same time as an Inquisitorial Prison Ship which found no trouble overpowering the already damaged Astartes Vessel and taking Hekate the Noble, as he had come to be known to the freed prisoners upon Chryseis, into custody via the underhand use of Psychic Blanks

Jianna Tavelleth

Jianna Tavelleth

A Dark Eldar Wych - Using a modified Renegade package.

Played by Tom

Background - A wych of the “Death’s Eye” cult Jianna was raised to be a perfect warrior, a paragon of the arenas of Commorragh. The cult grew in power within the arenas, drawing close to the exalted Cult of Strife, but the hubris of the cult would not allow any cult to be greater than they.
While the Cult of Strife dominated the arenas, the “Death’s Eye” allied themselves with many of the minor archons and dukes, taking part in more and more increasingly dangerous raids into real space.

Jianna excelled, the increased danger pushing her abilities to godlike standards, and her blades moved over the throats of mon-keigh, greenskins and other foul species alike, none with stood the grace and deadliness of her band of gladiators, but it was never enough. Still they were outclassed in the arena, their combat drugged bodies still unable to match the speed of the Cult of Strife and the chemicals in their systems polluting their perfection of death. Their raids became all the more frequent and they were force to ally with forces less than trustworthy.

On the Shrine World of Parlet the “Death’s Eye” found themselves abandoned by their allies and fighting for more than just glory. Jianna saw her comrades cut down, her Succubus felled, while she fought on for hours. Ccombat drugs burning through her system, the more she took the shorter the effects lasted and the closer she came to falling. At last the field stood empty of all but the dead and dying except for a lone wych, on her knees her veins aflame and her every muscles burning with lactic acid. Jianna collapsed; a smile on her face.
